There will be rock concerts, group painting sessions, ballet presentations, sculpture demonstrations, performance poetry workshops, fashion shows, and a lot more. And they are all happening this weekend.

Art enthusiasts, hobbyists, music fans, and the like are expected to troop to SM Megamall as Arts and Music Festival and Trade Fair kicks off today. Now on its third year, the three-day event promises to be a one-stop shop for everything and anything about arts and music.

With over a thousand participating artists, organizers said that the third edition of this event "will set higher ground with its powerhouse lineup of live musical and dance performances from different genres, stage plays, art films, free workshops and art exhibits to give guests a complete art experience."

Today, there will be performances by the students of Halili-Cruz School of Ballet. Later tonight, rock bands will dominate the stage at the Megatrade Hall 3 with The Dawn leading the pack of performers, including Greyhounds, Skabeche, Riot, Purple Chicken, Zip Code, and Niniskirt, among others.

Tomorrow, there will be an art demonstration by the Saturday group, and a performance poetry workshop by Vim Nadera. A sculpture demonstration by Ulysses Veloso is also on the schedule, together with film showings, a Cosplay fashion show, and a workshop conducted by the television program Art Angel.

There will also be performances by Joey "Pepe" Smith, Noel Cabangon, The Dorques, Johnny Alegre Affinity, Sofia, Brigada, Reklamo, Bahaghari, Coffee Break Island, Sinosikat, Markus Highway, and Kapatid.

On Sunday, Alfred Galvez is scheduled to conduct a workshop on art murals, while Wawi Navarroza will hold a fine art photography workshop. There will also be workshops on basic cartooning and calligraphy.

Bands and artists set to perform on the last day are Gloc 9, Agaw Agimat, The Chongkeys, Quadro, Kjwan, Indio-I, Stonefree, The Late Isabel, The Spaceflower Show, and Pinikpikan, among others.

While all this is happing, there will be selling booths all around the venue for those interested in buying art materials, musical equipment, paintings, CDs, and photo equipments, among others. There will also be booths for those who might want to enroll in art, dance, or music, and acting schools.
